NRM issues come into publication

During two days of 16-17 December 2013, researchers and lecturers from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, and US met together in a book writing workshop in Hanoi to consolidate research experience and studies in NRM issues. This workshop is an outcome of 10-year supports of Ford Foundation and MacArthur Foundation to Vietnamese researchers in forms of Ph.D, M.Sc scholarships and research grants. So far, there have been 6 PhD (4 from Hue and 2 from Hanoi) and 15 MSc students (10 from Hue & 5 from Hanoi) graduated from these two sponsoring programs during 2003-2013 period.

NRM in Vietnam: Challenges and potentials

Finally, I can make a presentation with colleagues and faculties at School of Food, Agricultural  and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) before leaving Minnesota after 4 months of CSP exchange. This is my second seminar presentation (after the IPID talk), and the 4th public speaking series during my time at UMN. Given common interests in research topics between CFANS and my college HUAF, the presentation aims at introducing emerging NRM issues in Vietnam, the status of management, and seeking possible collaboration between HUAF and UMN faculty and students in the future.

CBFM for resettled communities in central Vietnam

Today I was invited for a presentation with students at Interdisciplinary Perspective on International Development (IPID), the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota (UMN). Most of them are studying the first or second years at Master of Development Practice in international development (MDP) - a graduate program jointly administered by the Humphrey School and the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change (ICGC) and spans several academic units across the University of Minnesota. This international development degree provides training in policy analysis and management; health and education; natural sciences; social sciences, and interdisciplinary research methods.
